Correct me if I'm wrong, you send several convoys with supplies to a destination, however if the ports supply level 30 the supply number never exceeds that level, is that right and you can't stock pile?

It's not possible to stock the supplies

Is this a engine limitation or by design? I wish war games were a little less abstracted when come modelling supply.

Both,
Remember that you can also supply your units with your fleet, tact bombers or mulberry harbors.

Can air supply be intercepted by nearby fighters and can bombers carry out other actions in the turn they do air supply. The manual is brief on this subject, further thoughts, is there a notification, or report, on supply drops.[:)]

Doomtrader will have to answer concerning interceptions, but I don't think there is any interception of air supply.
Air supply doesn't use action points, so the air units involved can carry out other actions that turn.
Click on a unit, and the source of supply is indicated in the unit info. For air supply, I believe it will indicate 'alternative supply source.'

Thanks very much, I have seen the 'alternative supply source', but did not know what it meant. I would have thought that by placing sufficient fighter units within range, there should be reduction, or even elimination of air supply. It doesn't have to be an actual interception, just a calculation of supply delivered, subject to the strength of friendly bomber units (and maybe friendly fighters), against the strength of enemy fighter units in range. That would be a good enhancement. Hopefully Doomtrader is making a list of such things.
By the way, alternate supply will also be listed if your units are drawing supply from beachheads. It can never go above 20, I believe, and is calculated based number and types of ships in the adjacent sea zone. Units more than three hexes from the beachhead can't draw that supply.

Thanks again, your replies are building up quite a nice little tutorial on supply.[:)]

If you haven't seen it already, in my beta AAR at Slitherine forum, in the Barbarossa AAR, there is a breakdown of supply across railroads, roads, and ports, using North Africa as an example. I think supply is one area that Wastelands really got right in this game. Could do with enhancement, but a lot of bases are covered.

I'm hoping that not the only one.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it. [:)]
