Wild Bill's Campaigns

I'm just getting started in SPAWAW, and I've heard about all these great campaigns and scenarios that Wild Bill has created.

However, I can't find them. I've been to his site, but it seems he has moved on to another program.

Does anyone have links or can send me some of his older great campaigns and scenarios?

Like the Utah to the Rhine, or Long Long Road to Victory...
Preparing the Way and others?

Thanks for the help!

Most of his campaigns are already built into SPWAW, they were either done or overseen by WB. So there are several to choose from without having to look any further than the game itself. His biggest creation is MegaCampaign Operation Watchtower, which can be purchased from the Matrix store, he also played a large part in the creation MegaCampaign Desert Fox 1941, but this Mega is hard to come by.

There are quite a lot of stand alone scenarios by him provided with the game, too: just scroll down the scenarios list and look for those marked "WBW" at the end ;)

Oh, and when you're done with his scenarios (so next century, lol)
you can also follow the link in my signature ;)

Why don't we just tell this fellow to start the game, click on Solitaire play, then click on Campaigns? Too easy?

He will find several campaigns that way.

Bing,

You know, it is amazing what one will find if they just start the game and look around. :)

I really didn't realize the campaigns were loaded in there.. so basically i guess I was jumping the gun!

Thanks..

JoeCool ;) !

Gotta love that name. Any of my work that you would like to have, please write me. I'll be happy to send you any campaigns or scenarios that you wish.

bwilder@bellsouth.net

That goes for any of you. Hopefully one day the "Scenario Depot" will work and you can access them there.

I'm working on revising all my scenarios and campaigns and will eventually post them on the WBR site, which badly needs to be updated anyway.

In the meantime, tell me what you need and I'll get it to you or anyone who wants it.

That is why I did them, to bring pleasure and excitement to my fellow gamers.

Hey Bing, I like it. Straight to the point! :D

Wild Bill...

Yeah, I found them. It had just been a while since I loaded up SPAWAW, and forgot that some campaigns were already included.

I wonder if it is possible to get the out of print MEGA Campaigns from you somehow?

Does MATRIX GAMES plan on re-releasing them?

The only one unavailable at this point is Mega Campaign The Desert Fox - NA, 41.

I've talked with David Heath and it is a possibility that there might be a re-release of it, depending on the interest.

If David hears enough requests for any out-of-print campaigns, I'm sure he will seriously consider republishing them.

Good hunting....

David and I had an interesting discussion on sold out Mega Campaigns, he promised he would explore the possibilties of re-releases of Mega's after they have all sold out. Possibly in either a re-stamp of the original CD's or a pay for download(although unlikley due to size of downloads), or possibility of a MegaCampaign Gold Collection in which all would be included in one package. See my stickey in the Mega sub-forum.

The "Gold" collection seems like a good idea to me. But, then the guys who have one or two of the M/Cs would probably have a gripe coming about that.

It doesn't bother me to have duplicates of things I use. But it would sure be a nice touch to bring the M/C up to date with V7.1 and debug the installation and install the patches so they are "clean" and work right from out of their wrapper.

Aboslutely, Redleg. Excellent suggestion and vitally important to the success of such a venture.

We've learned a lot from those who have already played these and we can easily incorporate all of it into the revised products. That is a must!

Once it's decided on a yeah or neah on re-releasing I as well am hoping fixes will be included but to do so completely and properly would also mean fixing the Mega portion of SPWAW were the scoring problem issues reside and we all no SPWAW is suppose to be a done deal unless they put some of us old horses back to work on it.(no offence WB)

None taken, Mike! This old swayback has still got some "ride" in him ;)

The Grey Stallion....(not gelded yet!)

A Mega-Campaign Gold CD...

...would certainly make me want to buy it, BUT , yes, it would have to be compatible with 7.1 and have all the fixes pre -installed. As I said elsewhere, the desire for such a product should be guaged after the release of CL.
