I don't quite understand what you're asking for.  Do you want a map of the continental US?

And if that is what you want, dont expect big.

Look at Australia on the map, The USA is about the same North South and east West, just a bit squarer. If you add Canada it will be twice the size.

It would be interesting to see a Harry Turtledove type scenario.

He said South Pacific HQ area. I assume that would be the area roughly between Pearl Harbor and Noumea.  South of the Marshalls.

If you want a scenario to use a sub-map of the big map, just do the following
1) Note the hex coordinate boundaries you want to use.
2) Go into the editor and open a scenario you want to use as a starting point.
3) Save that scenario as another scenario number (the first 15 or 20 slots are reserved for official scenarios, but you can use any number after those.
4) In the primary scenario details like the start and end data, etc. there are also fields to define the bounding area of the map to use.  Enter whatever coordinates you want and your new scenario will only use that area.

While you're right Bill -
I'm sure the O.P wants more than the map; he wants the scenario with OOB, AI etc complete - which as you know takes more than the 5 mins it takes to make a map.[;)]

[edit] I've been in the process of making a similar scenario for a few months on and off (from the initial invasion of Rabaul - through Midway (Aluetians) to the beyond the end of Guadal.) Map extends from Tokyo(T Left) - Anchorage(T Right) Down to NZ and Australia) ... long way to go though ...

Just telling him how to get started. Yes, a full scenario takes time to develop. Though starting with a scenario that is as close as possible to what you want is a good start.

Yeah - I'm with you on that ...
In some ways maybe it would be best for him to start with the Guadal scenario, increase the map size and change the no.of turns ... then start looking at the OOB. [edit]Or maybe that will cause more headaches too [8|]

Maartenr - If you want me to do that quickly I can - send me a PM with your enail address ...

Have a good one

McArthur's command was the SW Pacific.  The HQ was in Australia and the mission for his troops was to initially work around the end of New Guinea from Port Morseby and then capture eastern New Britain while Halsey moved up the Solomons and encircled Rabaul from the east.

The next phase for the SW Pacific command was to continue to move up the north coast of new Guinea until they completely recaptured the island.

Finally they returned to the Philippines in October 1944.

There are a number of books out there on the campaign, both general histories as well as books that go into the deep detail of the units involved.

If you carry a MacArthur scenario forward into 1945 (and beyond?), and encompass the liberation of the entire Philippines, not just to his "return" (to Leyte 1944) -- I'd play(test) such a scenario. I'm keenly interested in that broad topic.

OK - I've done nothing more than cut down the Scen1 map for you Maartenr. War starts Dec7, but could have it for a few days later if you really want. The AI files are from Scen1 renamed - not sure if they'll work very well. Not played it, not tested anything, haven't changed any OOB but I could quickly have all reinforcements from the West coast to Hawaii...

Could cut out some bases in China and Thailand etc ...

Production is still on for the Japanese - but you'd probably need to either make a decision to turn it off, or do some economic testing and OOB changes to reflect this.

I'll post my mod which I alluded to earlier which is smaller when I have it working better. I want Floyd and I to test it first...

Ny59Giants and I are working on a full scenario too ... called "Options_88"

Download & Unzip the contents into the
C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\SCEN folder
Then load witp-Ae and load the scenario No 110

Well this is just a quick start for you ... there are a lot of other things that will need doing.
You need to read about the editor and making changes to scenario's...

I'll help you a little if you need, but if you want this mod like this you might need to do some work[;)] Tomorrow, after some sleep, I'll fix the Japanese production side for you & have reinforcements at Hawaii and it should be playable as is ... just not great...

Then you'll need to make a list of changes and things you want,..

My scenario's will take a few months to be ready and playable.

Creating a new map should be done with the (x,y).
How can i do it quickly byexample looking at the scenario map and if i want the Philipense only i should look for the left were the Phil. not more land to the left and look at that hex wich number it has and for the right above look for where there is only some sea and note that hex.
Am i right?
