Price Panzerjaeger I

It’s not important, but I wonder why the Panzerjaeger I is relatively expensive in PC. I fondly remember using several of them in PG where they were very cheap, and indeed they are pretty much just an open Panzer IB hull with a lightly shielded PAK. They were probably cheaper to produce than a "normal" Panzer IB yet are significantly more expensive than the tank.

Yes, the price difference does seem a bit wide, 123 for the 1B vs. 210 for the PanzerJager (if my speadsheet is still accurate.). I suppose you could argue that the 47mm was more expensive than the 1B's MGs? But I think the 47 mm Pak L/43 was simply taken from the Czechs so it's not like there were any real costs associated with it.

The Pak was certainly more expensive than the MGs but unlike the Panzerjaeger the Panzer I had a true tank turret and an armoured hull-top, which should make up for the cost difference of the weapons.

I guess it depends on how unit prices are calculated in Panzer Corps. Is it based on the historical factors you mentioned or is it on unit stats and capability. If it is the second then i can understand why it costs a bit more. It is after all the worlds first mobile AT gun (or tank hunter) and a very useful weapon.

It is the second concerning game balance.

Remember that a critical purpose of prestige is not so much to reflect price as much as it reflects the difficulty in procuring the item. So basic leg infantry are dirt "cheap" because the equipment is common. Panzerjaeger Is (only 202 produced!) are "expensive" because for a hypothetical unit to receive a large number would require a great deal of political will.

Rarity is a huge component of prestige calculation. It's part price, part rarity, part availability.
