if you form an army and want to divide it does it break into 3 division....and can you then divide the divisions into
regiments and break them into brigades?

Er, you can't "form" an army as a single unit (no such thing), so I'm not sure what you mean.

if you mod in an army size infantry unit will it break down into divisions and regiments and brigades...or does it just divide

NM, I see what you mean...

You CAN do a multi-layer organisation, but it requires that you predefine all the subunits, like it's done for the pre-split IJA units. Once you combine everything, that predefined structure goes POOF, and you can only split it into three parts.
