Something I have always wondered about...

Guys,

Sometimes, when a unit gets evaporated, you get a message saying "xyz has evaporated."

And sometimes you don't.

Does anyone know why this is. Just curious.

Best wishes,
Steve

I think that's an easy one... when the units get overrun there's no notification message. ;)

Herr Oberst,

Not sure about that. I have had evaporation overruns both with and without messages haven't I? I am sure I have. Will check though.

Best wishes,
Steve

Herr Oberst,

Yes. I can confirm that. Evaporation from overrums both with and without evaporation messages. The mystery deepens...

Best wishes,
Steve

Well then me lad, look at it as added realism, e.g. command & control, radio breakdowns, the in-depth realism always strikes me, too :)

Well then, let's write off every bug as a realism 'feature' and not fix them. Think of all the programming time saved. [:D]

I seem to recall that the evaporation message has to do with disengagement attacks.

Bob,

Ooo... that's interesting. So if there is a straightforward overrun and the unit gets steamrollered, there is no message. But if the unit tries to RBC and fails and then gets steamrollered, there is. That would be way cool.

It would also mean that my little Oberst buddy was right. Dammit! [:)]

Best wishes,
Steve
