Is there a way to edit saved files? I know it would open up a hole for possible cheating, but it might also save some games that become corrupt. Anyway if your opponent cheats he's stupid and you should find another opponent.

Why in the world would you need a savegame editor?

In another thread corruption of the data occured involving a linked list of fragements. In that case a IJN Inf unit became linked to a British RAF HQ. A data editor would allow fixing such a mess ...

Second. you have started a game and are well into a year invested. Suddenly you realize that USN 5" DP guns are borked, and you would like to fix it rather than start a new game. Or any other of things as a new player you find out well after getting well invested into the game.

Then there is the chaos one can produce ..[8|] Much like the disscussions in early 80's in regards to commericalization of the Internet. As the previous quote stated .. build it and they will come .. [:(] Thus it never will be done. .. I guess Matrix could sell a data editing service ... "For 100 dollars US we can fix your data file .."
