Post WWII and gold prices

This was a response to another irrelevant post that particularly tripped my trigger...Since my father came home from World War II and went into the pottery business with his father in 1946...They specialized in gold floral pottery. My family made gold pottery up into the 1980's and just a small amount in the 90's.I worked with him up until his death in 2007....Price of Gold used to be very inexpensive...something like $20.00 an OZ in the 1960's I think.Low enough price you could afford to cover an entire piece of ware with it..I have kind of lost my chosen occupation because of inflation as well as foreign imports that undercut our prices in the U.S....Like a lot of other manufacturing companies in the U.S.
(I won't take it personally if this thread is deleted by the way)
Wonderful [>:][>:][>:] cheap gold? yeah right
