game (no) start...

hi,

I just got a new laptop (asus, corei5, windows 7, nice smartbook with no CD reader).

I used TOF on my previous laptop (everything worked fine on this machine).

As I don't have a DVD reader on my new machine, I copied the content of the installation CD on an USB card and installed TOF on my new laptop from the usb card.

the installation went well, I can launch the TOF menu, get access to the documentation from the menu but nothing happens when I am clicking on the game button. I tried to launch the game from the directory, nothing happens. I tried to play with the properties of the exe (ie: compatibilities issues) but with no more success...

help!
best regards

just guessing - do you have to have administrator permission to invoke the game?

What is the desktop resolution of your new machine?

the default resolution is 1600x900 but I tried to launch the game with the two other possible resolutions (1024x768 and 800x600) but with the same end-result: nothing happens (no error msg either on the game log)

Did you copied the game or used the installer?

Are you saying there is nothing in the ConsoleOut.txt file?

I did copy the content of the cd I initially used to install the game on an USB key (as I don t have a cd reader on my new laptop) then I executed the installer program from the USB key.
The consoleout.txt does not exist /is empty

Please go to the data subfolder and delete all video files.
if this won't help, please go to my documents/my games/time of fury/ and copy the settings.ini file.

please send the file to doomtrader[at]wastelands-interactive.com

the problem is SOLVED and the game is now working properly...

I just updated my graphic driver !!!

Should someone else facing the same issue:
a) right button on the destop ---)select screen resolution
b) select advanced settings
c) select Properties
d) select driver tab
e) update driver

that's it! (and I just got my brand new machine last week...and the driver was already absolete!)

thanks for Doom and gw gardner support.
regards
