Would adding Light Industry to Aden / Abadan / Capetown and requiring the Allied Player to ship on map resources work?
Or would the added Light Industry be feed by resources created by "on map North America"?

Of course the intrinsic supply creation would be removed from these areas, as well as some / all of the merchant ships from the periodic convoy units.

The idea would be to simulate the resource flow from the pacific areas to support the greater off map war effort, with and the allied player being rewarded with finished supplies. Of course would affect the allied player, as he would no longer be dead heading all those merchant ships back from Australia, New Zealand and India. Therefore increasing convoy turn around time by the load cycle and possibly requiring more local convoys gathering resources in a central location for transhipment.

Your thoughts please.

Aden, Abadan and Capetown aren't connected to North America so there wouldn't be a resource flow to those bases.

But instead of moving resources to those bases to have it created into supply by light industry one would be better off moving supplies to start with.

Nothing on-map moves automatically to off-map areas. And vice versa. they are two parallel universes which only interact with each other when the player intervenes.

If you create an off-map demand for resources be very careful where the supply of said resources will come from. Don't assume that there is already sufficient surplus resources on-map which could be manually sent to meet the created off-map demand.

Except for a few special resources, the Allied war effort didn't need resources from the Pacific region.  What industry there was in South Africa was mostly supplied by resources from elsewhere in Africa.  There was little industry to speak of except oil in the Middle East.

This mod would add to the logistics game, but it probably wouldn't be that accurate historically.
