Guadalcanal scenario, restricted command question

I've tackled a few of the quicker scenarios and am now on to Guadalcanal. Been learning more and more every day but I have a new question. I started as allies and then switched to Japan to see how the AI handled allies and maybe I would learn a few things. It seems the allies transferred the entire AUS 7th to PM. I thought it was restricted and I know they don't have enough PP to do so. Did they air transport that entire army!?!? Is that even possible?

The AI cheats.

Really? That's messed up. I'm trying to follow how to best move units around by seeing how the AI handles it and instead it just warps things around as it sees fit.

You can do it if you save up enough points (I've done it). But if takes a LOT of PP's.

Yes I know I can but nothing like what the AI did by warping them. I guess what bugs me is that if I'm playing the Japanese, I have to face over 30k troops in PM...but if I play as Allies, I won't be able to have the same forces in PM...mainly because I can't warp restricted AUS units there at whim.

In searching other threads it seems that the AI can freely cheat/move restricted units. It has been said by Andy that the AI can cheat in some instances...if that is one of them, I defer to his judgement and will leave it alone.

And the absolute biggest problem facing the Japanese is supply. For the AI it's not. A major fact of the game. The AI cheats. Big time. But then again , the AI is dumb. So you are playing against a dumb guy who cheats like a *&^%$#. It works out.
If you are getting beat up, just do the a-historic (and unexpected). The AI's brain goes into melt down and you can walk all over it. [:D]

actually the AI can only "cheat" in regards to supply if the difficulty setting is on Difficult or Very difficult.
If on "Normal" the AI is bound by the same supply rules as a human so while the AI can always ignore restricted commands, you could still starve out the AI if it stuffs a forward base but then can't bring in the supply to maintain it.

Does the AI still cheat on political points on "Historical" difficulty?

It seems like it...moving that entire division would have cost thousands of points that it could not have had the first week of the scenario.
On a good note...this whole ordeal helped me learn a few more things. I had always tried to move infantry units and see how many points they cost. Obviously it's a ton and so I assumed I would not be able to move any units for quite some time. Then I saw that base force units/engineers and the like are next to nothing. So the entire campaign I've had those units wasting away doing nothing. Good to know I can now station them at PM and around Tulagi to build up the bases.

AI does not cheat, AI have different rules. No matter what difficulty level, AI don't need political points to move restricted units, and AI don't have to garrison anything.

The AI ignores command structure, including "Restricted Commands" which is what PP's are used for......so the question has already been answered. The AI gets a pass on Restricted units, therefore doesn't need to use PP's at all.
