Air to Air Rockets, a civilized discussion

Since the rocket thread in the main forum has gone down the drain, and since it does bring up something that is mod related I thought I'd bring it up for discussion here.

Air to air rockets. Germany did use them (to negligible effect I believe). However, when they did hit they were quite devastating to the target (IIRC).

So the modding question:

If one were to add air to air rockets as a late war possibility, how would one go about it?

The only way I see possible, given that the engine doesn't track ammo (when it comes to air to air) is to treat them as an aircraft cannon called 'Rocket Pack' and give it an extremely low accuracy (say 1 or 2 at most) and front mount it. Effect of anywhere from 5 to 15 perhaps?

Obviously more of a discussion than anything serious, but it might be fun in a mod. [;)]

i'd start with accuracy 0 and test. To reduce the uber P-39 issue i'd reduced its 37mm to acc 0. This didn't stop the plane from scoring. with a few exceptions, a difference of a point or two is pretty much invisible anyway. ACC is not a sensitive variable.

could give the soviets A2A rockets -

consider all [6xRS-82] as 1 gun device with accuracy 0

though one has to wonder how often A2A rockets were outfitted to soviet
fighters on sweep / cap missions (more likely to be used as ground attack)
