For those playing a campaign pbem, what turn rate have you used; how is it working out?

My old SPI WITP opponent, with which we played a campaign game taking up all the saturdays in 1985 are to start WITP. Be are priming on UCV but will transition to starting the campaign of WITP and plan to spend several years to play. If played to the end, its about 1326 days. We are playing UCV at 3 days. There days the fewer turns; but trade-off of things going out of control (wayward TF, bombers attacking without escorts, obsolete planed getting pounded all week long until scrap).

Hi wga

In the game I have going with Todd we have managed to keep a steady one turn a day going since we started. Barring of course importance RL events such as holidays and the like. I am on leave at present and therefore we have been getting 2 turns in a day. However you choose to do it get a regular pattern going, like you mentioned with your Saturday session, and both of you should be happy.

Good hunting.

Steve

thanks. in UCV which is a more limited scope, I have two games at 1 day/turn and one with 3 days/turn. So far I am managing about 5-6 turns during a week day evening, dependent on opponents timezone. the 3/day game is with whom I will start a WITP. Given 1300+ total turns (we typically play to the end to set a benchmark) even that is a multiyear project. I play dozens of wargame titles via vassal, run tournaments etc. so my discretionary time is pulled in many directions.
