I see a consistent trend in that the Allies accept and early decisive battles in the 1942 timeframe the IJN has all the advantages in CV, planes, experience, surface forces. A consistent theme from play in SPI War in the Pacific; SSI Guadacanal Campaign; BL/AH Flattop; VG/AH Pacific War; SSI/Matrix Pacific War; SSI Carrier Strike, SSI War in the South Pacific; SSG Carriers at War; AH Victory in the Pacific is the IJN wants a CV battle early, the USN seeks to avoid such and wait for superior production to give it an advantage. I think a historical outcome to the Battle fo Coral Sea is unlikely. [Recreating a substantial success in the Battle fo Midway just does not happen in simulations. ]

All these games on the AAR has the two constants, 1) Ralf as IJN and 2) decisive battles ending in IJN domination in 1942.

Given the Automatic IJ victory conditions, The allies need to fight somewhere but it seems preferable not vs IJN CV TFs. But there do not seem to be save areas.

I am new at this game so my views are still as an outsider.
