Hi,

I'm using Win 7 and I cannot seem to get a PBEM game to work.
The problem is that after doing the opening turn and ending it, the game attempts to save the file but I get a write error.
Looking in the save game folder I see the save and when I attempt to open it there is only a map, no units, and I get a cannot read file error.

Can anybody help?

Well mine works fine and I use PBEM a lot. So it's something to do with your installation. Are you using any mods or anything like that? The .bte file should be in the game subfolder. Try deleting the pbem xxx and yyy files as they sometimes get corrupted. That's a few of the usual issues covered at any rate.

I reinstalled the entire game and repatched.
That seemed to be the ticket! Works fine now.

I've been playing a lot too over the last couple of years and this is the first time this happend, but some of my opponents who I queried replied that this was a normal "bug" thing that fixes easy with reinstallation. Cool.

the commonest bug is a corruption of the pbem xxx and yyy files so delete those frequently.
