Tank question.

When a tank becomes immobilized its' field of vision and firing arc will stay in its' front view only. I wonder why? That's necessary for a StuG type vehicle but since a tank has a revolving turret, why can't the turret turn to fire in any direction?
Thanks for any opinions.

Maybe I'm not understanding your question, but in the scenario I'm playing my PzIV can fire at anything it can see (the yellow and brown) hexes on the map without changing it's facing. The target is actually behind the PzIV in a brown colored hex and the PzIv just knocked it out and it's facing didn't change. If the target was in an unshaded hex it would be out of LOS and couldn't fire. So, I think turreted tanks can fire at anything it can see regardless of facing.

check your aps in your example-shooting outside your front arc costs and xtra AP. If you are immoblized you can shoot all day outside of your arc-as long as you have that xtra 1 Ap to add to the total to shoot-that can add up.
I just checked in a game of mine where I have some immob'd tanks and they were able to shoot outside their front arc.
