This scenario has been really killing me so I decided to look at Boardgamegeek.com hoping to find someone who played the scenario there as the Germans and won. I found someone wrote a review of this scenario and they won...without too much trouble.

And what did I find?

The boardgame scenario also gives the Germans a Pz 38t tank, a tank that is comparable to the Pz IIIe! I think that Pz 38t must be the tipping point for this scenario, just think if you had another decent German tank in this scenario to fire and take out the T-26b's!

Aside from the abscence of the Pz 38t (a strong German tank unit in this scenario), the scenarios are identical for the PC & boardgame version in terms of units and starting positions.

Why was this unit taken out? It can't be for balance reasons haha

Please put the Pz 38t back in next patch :)

Thanks. I'll take a look. We didn't intentionally remove any units, so if a Pz38t is missing it was an oversight.

Good catch. While this scenario is getting fixed to add the missing tank in I want to remind Eric that the Germans get the initiative in this battle. It's not supposed to be random. It does mention who gets initiative in this scenario but it is not posted at the top like the new fire fight books do it. It's lost down in the body of the text. AtB's first fire fight book suffered from this error of not making it clear who has initiative. All latter games now place initiative front and center so it's easy to find. When 2nd edition AtB comes out that will be fixed.
