Just curious if there are any plans to develop a Med-front version of this game? Or, perhaps, a Modern-era version of this game (ala North Atlantic '86).
Thanks!

No. This game engine is tapped out.
I trust T's judgment - he is far better informed than I am.
There is no disappointment or letdown, however - look at what the Henderson Design Group and other modders have done with the engine
as is. The perspective I take is that the smart guys will do their best to squeeze the most out of the existing engine - it ain't over yet.
And, of course, there is
always the possibility that Michael M is hard at work, at some undisclosed, AUS / X location... <grin>
I am confident that more -
in whatever form it might take - is to come...

I've always wondered if there could have been more flexibility if all the "hard coded" dates, locatations, etc, had been moved to an external location, like a .ini file. This seems to be the biggest obstacle to crating new theatres.

I'm holding out for the Platinum Edition: which will return to the UV scale of 30 miles per hex, but with 12 hour turns.

But then the Allied player will have to manage the US, UK and USSR economies, and PPs will have to be conserved to re-elect FDR!!

Did someone mention that in order to increase the logistics challenges a bit, the category "supplies" will be split into Ammo, Food, spare parts, paper (needed to make HQs run) and nationalized, with adverse effects on morale if a GI is fed with British spam etc. ?

You left out paper clips and red tape. No HQ can run without them.
As to adverse morale effects from outside influnces, US sailors took a big morale hit when they tasted Brit rum and realized they weren't going to get more. And the Brits took big morale hits when they saw US ice cream etc. US Lend Lease ships caused a big flap. They had things like water coolers and decient heads. Shocking! There was a serious effort to get such evil things removed! Fortunatly they failed.
My favorite is a 10 point morale boost for air resupply. You know for the inevitable stuff that missed the ship, wasn't avalable, or needed in unexpected quanities. Plus the morale effects of knowing you had a chance of getting flown out if wounded.
Then we can add an other 10 point boost for a Bob Hope show. No, not for Bob, but for all the women he brought!
The list is long!

I remembered that there was a med-front senario in WITP.
Is it right?

There were a couple of forum members who created a Med Mod for WITP, but it wasn't an official scenario by any means.

Yes. It was a good effort, but the game engine just couldn't do it justice.

Yup. There come a point where even the most well-designed and engineered design reaches the end of it's development potential.
...unless, of course, you're talking about the Porsche 911 based series, or the Boeing 737 series. [:D]

WiTP 2.0 has been announced for early 2114.
A handheld calculator will bring the engine up to standard in an idle split second. The following two years database and modability issues will be fixed.
The game will not require any human interaction - which is good, because I won't be around.

Note that a patch is something different than a "Med-front version of the game". The patch sticky post implies there will be further patches, but the OP was asking about something beyond a patch, me thinks.
