Reviewing air units for Scenario 105 I found that dive bombers are
not properly armed - in all RHS scenarios - in stock - and all mods using
stock data.

Looking at the ancient D1A I said "I thought it had small bombs under the wings" -
and it did! But not in stock. Since I never checked, I inherited the error. It carried
2 x 30 kg bombs unless on an extended range mission.

Next I checked the Val. Similar - except it should carry 2 x 60 kg bombs.

Next I checked the Judy. Similar - except it ALWAYS carried small bombs -
60 kg to normal range - 30 kg to extended range - and its main load (500 kg to normal
range and 250 kg to extended range) was INTERNAL - meaning its range mission
fractions are better than for normal dive bombers with external main loads are.

To this add that stock data STILL is wrong for the Ki-51. We pointed this out long ago, but it is still armed with 4 x 50 kg bombs - when its actual load is 12 x 15 kg bombs. I am unable to confirm its hard points even permitted mounting of a 50 kg bomb.

yeah Val is supposed to carry 2x60 kg + 1 x 250kg

(it did that in the old flight sims like aces of the pacific)

as an aside, I think the vals could have been retrofitted to carry 2x100L drop tanks
on those wing hardpoints (instead of the 2x60kg) to get their range up to 7 hexes normal, 8 hexes extended

maybe with extra fuel, the second wave of vals would find enterprise at Eastern Solomons?
