Aircraft Missions not Flying

I have a thread in the tech forum. It seems that if "not enough supply etc " a mission will not even form up to be cancelled, and thus leave a little clue behind as why.... I am most concerned with the "etc"
Mission Sweep 23000 feet. Units Morale 99, leadershp 72, Air 66, Suplies 37,000, weather rain, ..mission does not even form up to be cancelled. For four turns i have been trying to bomb Tavoy but no joy in even getting the mission to form up and I have not even a little clue as to why ..
So .. what are the "etc" that prevents air groups from forming up to even be cancelled?? I know abou tthe superior KB thing . no contact here ..what else?

airfield size 7 rangoon .. you might have a point in agressiveness .. two groups 37/46 the other two groups .. 62/67 .. I wonder if one group can pull down the whole mission? I will change leaders this turn on a new group just formed ..
It would be nice to get a message: Commander 'X' really does not like killing things and prefers to garden today ...[8D]

Even not flying due to low morale is sketchy
low morale would mean the planes fly but turn back easily when faced with the enemy
( "elements of Genzan-Ku turning back!!" )
If the supreme command ordered you to fly, disobeying it would mean a trip
to the stockade, and eventually to the gallows (or hara kiri in this case?)

Nope ..The Brits own Rangoon in 43 [:D] 4 RAF groups trying to sweep Tavoy .. I changed it 4 turns ago to escort bombers siliently the missions did not go .. and since then .. I have not been able to get a mission to "organized" to launch .. and no error message as to why? I changed back to sweep just to do something .. and still no joy .. [&:]
The IJ are offloading 3 divisions right now devoid of aircover completly unopposed under my 200 bombers .. i can't even sweep!!![:@]

The lady is right, very much looks like an Agg issue.
It is possible for one group to influence the whole strike. There is one lead group designated for an attack (IIRC by either exp or cdr leadership rating).
Then additional units are added to the mission. If the lead unit does not fly, there is a chance the others stay grounded as well I think.

Make that a car accident, as chances to make it look like a plane crash are pretty slim with those values... [;)]

Just to add to the situation Fairly accidently runs into a prop and is replaced with an agression 71 .. sweeps go off ...[:D] Now if this is the reason 200 4E's and 2E's did not fly either that is pretty borked ..

Tomonaga: "left tank full?!"
mechanic: "yes sir.. but"
Tomonaga: *jumps into B5N kate on 1 way mission"

Wow! This is a bit odd. One low-aggression squadron leader and the whole mission gets canceled? Ouch! Gotta pay more attention to leader ratings.

"Borked" doesn't begin to cover it. I would dearly love to have someone show us just ONE historical example of 200+ A/C not flying an ordered mission because one Squadron Leader has the "shakes". Utter nonsense is more like it...

Thing is, WitP AE and predecessors have always been hybrid games with regards to what can be directly influenced and what not. Certain areas
are only controllable through indirect means, and one of those means is aggression. It always has been this way.
You can deliberately assign commanders with either low or high, or average agg (this applies to air, naval, and land warfare) and benefit from your selection. To use the aggression rating as a means to predict what your unit will do under specific circumstances simply enhances your control over tactical situations.
To debate whether this is 'borked' or 'unrealistic' while ignoring it as a feature only harms your own play. [;)]

It's not so much the leader gets the "shakes". Rather it's finding reasons not to fly missions for valid reasons. An aggressive commander will fly the mission even when bad things are happening while a low aggression commander will abort a mission for any reason. I have seen and heard this happen in real life with aircraft missions.
