I am playing the Meeting of the Titan's as the Soviet player.
I'm to hold the town and take ground.
Okay, first we hold the town then we take ground.
This scenario has reinforcements at turn 6. I'm sure by then I'll need them.
Good Hunting.

I'll be experimenting with the different order sets in this battle.
The first thing I did was to place my troops and then give them no orders to see what the game would do with them.
Good Hunting.

Our first SitRep looked like this.
As you can see area 6 is where the battleground will be. NATO gets 3 times as many points for controlling area 6 as they do for area 12. I don't expect to lose area 12 in the first place.
Area 6 gives me 15 times more points that I get for control of Area 1. This is a no brainer. The battle will definitely be for Area 6.
I don't need to be in any hurry. The game is scheduled for 24 turns so I can take my time and see how the game develops.
With no orders given the computer dug my troops in. That's a good move. I like that. Now let NATO come. Bring your tanks against my dug in positions and we'll see how that works out.
One of the things I'll watch for is the Average Order Delay times each turn to see how they turn out. For a turn where I give no orders I expect to have a very low average delay time and I did.
Good Hunting.

Some of the units I've not given orders to are on hold.
Which is a good thing and what I want.
Good Hunting.

But for other units Hold isn't even in the list of orders that I can choose for them.

It didn't take long for the Americans to start scouting the map.
Good Hunting.

Not much happening with my forces sitting still and waiting to see what happens.
At the moment the initiative is all with the American forces.
After a short engagement with the American tanks in Sector 7 the only part of their force we see is the recon helicopters in Sector 3.
The first engagement went well for us. We killed 7 tanks for the loss of 5 IFV's.
Good Hunting.

Both side keep losing a vehicle here and there but for the most part the front is quiet.
Good Hunting.

The SitRep shows us that the Americans are moving. Their order delay is larger than ours. Since we aren't giving orders that means the Americans are.
Good Hunting.

Finally, my reinforcements get here. Nothing to write home about but we'll take them.

Since I got my helicopters I decided to start moving and seeing what's going on myself. I am going to send a diversion to the north and see if I can flank the ridgeline.
It will all be done in front of the US Observation Helicopters. We'll see what their response is.
Good Hunting.

Another quiet turn. This works in my favor. When I do make my moves there will be less time for the AI to respond.
I have the northern flanking units route march into Sector 4.
Good Hunting.

Time to give the southern flanking move assault orders to move across open ground.

I want SPAA support for the northern flanking units. I know there were US helicopters in that sector not that long ago. At the moment I have contact with them again.
Good Hunting.

As my forces move into flanking position the American forces are quiet.

I've shifted my forces considerably with minimum interference from the Americans.

I'm not sure why units that haven't moved in several turns would be showing exhausted?

Finally, it seems we have lost the helicopter bird dogs we've had the entire time we moved to the northern edge of the map in Sector 4. Hopefully they have reported our movements this entire time and when it comes time to advance into Sector 6 we won't have as much opposition.
Good Hunting.
