Operation Mars?

Operation Mars, launched around the same time as Uranus and commanded by Zhukov, involved as many (if not more) troops than Uranus and lasted for several intense and bloody weeks. Several German Panzer Divisions were engaged along with the whole of 9th Army.
I should be represented in WitE, unless I missed it somewhere?

My 'The Red God of War' scenario recreates this. I'll post an update as soon as I can. I have a plan to link this scenario with Trey's 'Red Army Resurgent' which starts at the same time. Any thoughts anyone.

are HPS games good? Its probably the only wargaming franchise I haven't taken for a stroll, as the opinion towards them varies from 'the pinacle of wargaming' to complete and utter s***.

Depence, as a historic learning tools about campaigns they are excellent. In most of the titles u can really get a feel of why the campaigns played out as they did historicly. As games, so so in PBEM(tho opinions differs), vs AI utter crap. Worst AI i ever encountered in my computer PC gaming days starting in 1990. I have a friend that just read No holding back so he was in the mood for some normandy. 3 game days into it he was at the historic mid july lines vs the AI.
My 2 cent,
Rasmus

HPS versus the AI is pathetic, and I have no love for WITE AI either with the warps, unlimited APs, etc. However, the the games are meticulously well researched, the maps are great, the OOBs are very good. As for PBEM, it offers security and features which WITE does not have: a PBEM no file save feature, and play back at various speeds; the mechanics are a bit old but are constantly updated so the games are very enjoyable.

Well in terms of vs the AI I guess the gold standard would be the panther games, thank god they are finally going to be taking on the Eastern Front in their next game.

Oh, they've done the Eastern Front before, Fire Brigade. I am dating myself severely by even mentioning this...

IMO opinion the best one is Minsk 44 esp my mod.
The Russian are in a hell of a rush to cature Minsk before the supply wains. the terrain is difficult for the attck provided the Germans can retire in order.
1 KM HEX, 2 hour turns. Battalions and companies plus extra bits and bobs. When you play this ( PZC ) you will see why the axis could have more then 3 Divs in a hex.
You will also see how the Russian assault engineer brigades are real useful.

You would also need the excellent map and alt art mods.

Panzer campaigns are very good imo if played with the phased turns. Smolensk is packed with feel. Much like war in the east.
