Artillery Question

In the Artillery Editor section of the game's editor, under Artillery Strength, it says that a good number would be a 5 or a 6 in this box. What does a 5 or 6 equate to, 75mm artillery or what? What is the topmost value that the game can go to and what size artillery would it represent? Abit of a small chart would be a great thing.

I believe that corresponds to the firepower of the artillery. 105mm arty usually corresponds to a 5 Firepower in the game. I'd probably rate 75mm at about a 3, the same as an 81mm Mortar. A 300mm Nebelwerfer is a 9, IIRC and Soviet 122mm Artillery is a 6.
I should note that there are guidelines for this, but I don't have them handy. It's based on the values in the board game and corresponds to the firepower values you see on all the units in the game (though artillery and mortars are resolved a bit differently from direct fire).

- Erik

The rules pdf for Storms of Steel shows cards for OBA
Off-Board Artillery (OBA)
OBA represent off-board resources
available to the players as set by a
firefight. A player must note if he will
use smoke when targeting in the
pre-round sequence. The affected
target hex patterns are printed on
each card.
