Am learning more and more but I need some help with reading
the penetration diagrams. Like can a pak37 penetrate a KV-1 at
any range as and example.(or should I just flee and live to fight another day [:'(])

Check the manual. Sorry for saying that so much, but that's the easiest way, really. And keep in mind that those diagrams are approximate and are not as accurate as in the game.

Basically you have to select a weapon and target vehicle (and approximate hit location: turret, superstructure or hull). Then you can see a a penetration diagram of different ammo types. The horisontal and vertical lines helps you to determine what are the maximum penetration distances of each ammo type for different hit locations of target vehicle.
