Here's a link for the IrfanView viewer:

Back up the files in the ART directory and copy (or extract directly) the files in the zip archives into the ART directory.

*Bump*.

Excellent screens, a must-download for IJN players. I was getting tired of looking at all that Navy Blue color everywhere. Thanks Rowlf.

Files to Large for dialup

Would love to download these files but they're too large for a dialup connection. Couldn't you zip these files for those of us who have slow connections?

Thanx

John

Ahem. Those are zipped. :D

I will see about getting the jpg versions back up (then you just have to translate them to bmp). They work pretty well, the maps had problems with the hexgrid being blurred in the jpg versions. The jpg versions, themselves, are in the 1.9 Mb size category.

Rowlf - Thanx for the jpg versions. I noticed when I unzipped these that there were some duplicate files. However, I managed to change these files to bmp files and copied them to the art folder. (a lot of work) Everything looked fine except for a couple of things. The first is that in my pbem game I'm playing the US side but when I went to save the game the Japanese save screen came up. I never noticed this before. I do have the asave.bmp file in the art folder. I also noticed that when I went to save the game in the 3 slot the date that the save was originally done kind of overwrites the date saved title in the right hand window. However, after looking at the original save file and yours the date saved title is in the exact same place. Maybe I just didn't notice it before.

In any case thanx for the work you've done. The graphics look great.

John

And when you save game as the Japanese, you get the Allied save screen. AFIAK, that's the way it works.

There must be some logic to that but I fail to see it.

I believe it's because you have ended your portion of the turn, so it switches over to the other side when it determines what screen to use. If you save during the turn without ending the turn you will get the "proper" save screen.

All your mods are excellent, Rowlf.

Good work. Please keep it up.

As a former Combat Mission mod junkie, I wish there were more doing your work on the UV art.

Just to let you know that there won't be any additions/changes here for quite awhile (as time doesn't permit anymore). They will also be available at Spooky's UV site.

Besides, it was a good reason to bump the posts back up to the top for another cycle. (As you can see, blatant self-promotion. :D :D :D)

Just curious, but 2by3 games are looking for a graphic artist I believe, and the job you have done to these is very good, of course the major afvantage of helping out 2by3 games would be that you get to see how they are getting on with there future releases.
