Now thats the P39 variant I want !!!!!!!
I did mod the downfall game and added them, better than the P40 that starts on Okinawa, not as good as the P47 or P51.

Still Zero/Oscar meat to us JFBs, really love when Allied players use them on CAP, and better still for escort.

Man, she had to be a B_____ to land. Nose high like that. Especially on a rough field. Glad I didn't have to drive her .... [;)] Proud of the guys who did. [&o]

Not a credit to the game design by the way. The P-63 was faster, more maneuverable, and in every way superior to the A6M. It was what the P-39 *should have been* if they P-39s original intended role as a high altitude interceptor had been supported.

Coming from you, that's entirely worthless and without merit.

Forty thousand posts in ten years Terminus? You are amazing. With your busy work schedule and social life, how DO you find the TIME?

Bell P-63 (from Wiki, FWIW, but you can find the same in almost any volume).
Performance
Maximum speed: 410 mph (660 km/h) at 25,000 ft (7,620 m)
Range: 450 mi[35] (725 km)
Ferry range: 2200 mi (3,540 km)
Service ceiling: 43,000 ft (13,100 m)
Rate of climb: 2,500 ft/min (12.7 m/s)
Wing loading: 35.48 lb/sq ft (173.91 kg/m²)
Power/mass: 0.20 hp/lb (0.34 kW/kg)
Armament
Guns:
1× 37 mm M4 cannon firing through the propeller hub
4× 0.50 in (12.7mm) M2 Browning machine guns
Bombs: 1,500 lb (680 kg) bomb load on wing and fuselage
And the A6M .....
Performance
Maximum speed: 533 km/h (287 kn, 331 mph) at 4,550 m (14,930 ft)
Range: 3,105 km (1,675 nmi, 1,929 mi)
Service ceiling: 10,000 m (33,000 ft)
Rate of climb: 15.7 m/s (3,100 ft/min)
Wing loading: 107.4 kg/m² (22.0 lb/ft²)
Power/mass: 294 W/kg (0.18 hp/lb)
Unsurprisingly, the ONLY arena in which the Zero looks good by comparison is in its low altitude climb rate. The Zero looks good next to just about everything in low-altitude climb.
The funny thing is that the US never fielded the P-63 in combat. They all went to the USSR via lend-lease, and, as I recall, to a few South American allied nations.

Quite agree. It goes without saying in any case.
I did notice that the game has the same specs for the P-63. But then our expert wouldn’t be expected to know that, not having the game.

I think she was rather easy on the pilot on landing. Don't forget you need to go nose high anyway for the flare, and thats only the last seconds before touchdown. Also taxiing for sure must have been more comfortable compared to a taildragger.

DivePac says that Zeroes regularly eat the P-63's lunch in WitP. Is that true? If so, wouldn't the specs seem to counterindicate that result?

Maybe, but I am still glad I was not asked to drive her ...

I was reading this and some other threads and I have a question.
Does termite always just drop in to say something repugnant and obnoxious?
Is he nine years old? Or just the kind of person who likes to write obscenities on other peoples things?
He even takes the time to say really nasty things to spambots.
Things must be pretty rotten in Denmark.
