Hi all, here's the Ranger for anyone that wants to use it in a mod.
I plan to use this as a base to make a couple other versions one using camouflage measure 33, version 1A as I understand it sported in the Pacific in 1944.
I hope anyone chooses to use it enjoys. [:)]

I tried my best to please glad you all enjoyed the effort!! [:)]
John, trying to take things day by day. Thanks for the well wishes my friend.
Thanks Terminus (with your experience with the game it means a lot) and Buck (I always keep you in mind when I have something going)
Thanks Hotschi but I already have that. Much appreaciated!! You're doing some awesome stuff in your thread. I probably should have done the '43 or 44 camo first as I've been piecing together the
measure 12 modified camouflage from pics and cross referencing with some well done models. It's time consuming but coming along pretty well. If anyone has a diagram of Ranger painted in MS 12 mod it would be a blessing.
I got this from Tracy White's site and plan on painting it up year by year disregarding the MS 4 of course.

Here she is painted up in MS 33 1A. I may have some fine tuning on it so it will be a few days before I upload it.

Hm, considering the timeline might be a good idea. As the USN fills up with Essex class CV's, there's less incentive to keep the Ranger in action. Not much point in painting up a carrier that won't be used.

After Santa Cruz, the USN had only one operational carrier, the Saratoga. The Royal Navy loaned HMS Victorious to the USN in late December 42, arriving March 1943 at Pearl Harbor. September 1943, HMS Victorious began her journey back to the UK.
Now suppose the Royal Navy (or Churchill or the Admiralty or whoever in charge) opposed loaning a carrier. Or Admiral Ernest J. King, for his own reasons, opposed asking the British to lend a hand - and ta-dah! - there's a theoretical place for USS Ranger to be sent for the Pacific instead.
And as she would be there already, even though unfit for PTO operations, she could still be used as aircraft ferry when the Essex-Class carriers arrive to take over fleet operations.

Not saying that the Ranger wouldn't be used, just saying that Sulusea might not bother wasting his time on late-war (1944-46) paint schemes, when the Ranger would have been taken out of service by then.

T has a point. 1944 the Ranger hangs out on the coast doing flight training. I don't think they would waste the yard space to paint her.

Hi guys! I don't mind putting some lipstick on her.
From a personal viewpoint I feel USS Ranger should come on the map as it did historically. From what I read she sailed through the Panama Canal on 7.16.1944 and spent the rest of the war in the Pacific. Agreed she wasn't at the tip of the spear but the way I view it is the option should be their for training or ferrying planes. I have pictures of her in all three camouflage schemes and am enjoying putting this together.
Here she is in the measure 33 1a at Pearl in 1944

She needs more than lipstick. Some botox and a nose job might help. [:'(]

I cheated. In my Alt timeline, the Ranger looks more like the Wasp and is a little heavier, and the Wasp is a close sister. There is a 4th Yorktown, but it's all good... the IJN gets two more Shokaku's and the Soryu and Hiryu class is doubled as well.. though they are actually about 17K tons. The extra Sho's are not in at 07DEC41... the other Soryu and Hiryu are, but not in TF1.
