their going to start college football playoffs in 2014. About time they got rid of the BCS junk. According to our paper they will be playing 31st and the 1st of Dec and January. Hopefully it'll work out-the top 4 that is.

What I've always wanted, college playoffs-college football from September to July.

I think they will go to 8 teams, I mean they have to. To much momey at stake. This would give teams like South Florida and ehm......Iowa to make it in.

For college, 15 is alot of games....wonder how many games they will be playing 2040, with ticket prices going up almost every year. They will need to raise the price of tickets just to help keep most big level programs in place.

Right now the Arkansas Razorbacks tickets are 55 to 65 dollars per game. This does not include parking.

Why 15?

12 game regular season, semifinal, final.

Not all leagues have a championship game and so far there is no requirement that a team be a conference champion (like Alabama this year)

SEC,PAC 12,Big Ten,ACC all have conference championships. They way the system is going to be set up you have to win your conference to be considered unless of course your Norte Dame. So at least three teams will play 15 games. 12 reg games plus one for conference championship so that's 13. Plus one for semi and one for championship. Also I predict that either Missouri or Texas A&M will beg the big 12 to take them back after this year. Also strength of schedule will BE A MAJOR FACTOR also. So no more loading your schedule with cupcakes. So let's say you go 12-0 and lose your conference championship game to a 10-2 team. Now that 10-2 team is in the mix for the playoff and not the 12-1 team.

Yes to be considered you have to win your conference......

That may end up being the case, but right now there are no automatic qualifiers and being a conference champion is not required.

There is one flaw here:

TENNESSEE would win the SEC.

I think I'm going to have to disagree here. What I have heard is that conference championships will be heavily considered but not a requirement for all spots. Maybe that last spot.

People forget the only thing they have agreed to is a four team playoff. Imagine if you will a big ten, sec or PAC ten team winning their league and not going....we will find out for sure by next summer. From what I have read all of the AD's from the major conferences want this so it will happen. Remember the major reason this is happening is the Alabama LSU game last year.
What the AD's want....
1. Winner of the league goes
2. Strength of schedule will be a major factor
3. Bowl rotation
4. The coaches poll has more influence understandable

SOME of the schools want that. The schools in the powerhouse conferences (SEC/Big 12)want to have multiple teams per conference.

SoS will be a big factor.

None of the polls really have an influence. The committee will pick who they feel is best.

It would seem to me that they would want this to increase their intake of money. I wish they had done something like this years ago. Well, as long as Arkansas is in there I'am happy. Now if we can keep our coach's with their pants on....maybe well stay in the top ten. [:D]

Like I said the only thing set is that there are going to be four teams. I wouldn't call the big 12 a power house conference anymore, if they pic up really good two teams than maybe. There will be a lot of factors yet to be determined. SoS will be a major factor in which I'm hverry happy with.
