Why is this an impossible shot?

A Russian Maxim has a forward red defense of 12. The bunker adds 5 to this for a total defense of 17 (this value is displayed in the lower right corner of your screenshot). A Panzer IIf (which I believe is the tank you have selected) has a red attack strength of 4. Attacks in "Conflict of Heroes" are resolved by rolling 2d6 and adding the attack strength. The most you can roll with 2d6 is a 12, so the highest you can roll on your attack is a 16. Since 16 < 17, this tank cannot damage the Maxim in the bunker and thus the attack is reckoned as an "impossible shot."

Thanks Eric forgot about the +5 defence modifier, like trying to knock out a tank with a pellet gun.
