Game locks up

Scenario - Frontier Firefights / Collective Farm
While playing as the Germans (Russians are the "preferred human" side), the game locked up during the Russian turn. The hour glass never disappeared, it seemed the game was in some sort of "loop". This happened in each of the two attempts I tried playing as the Germans.
In addition (I posted this in the general section of this forum), when playing the Russian side, reinforcements were allowed in ALL hexes (i.e. All the hexes are flashing blue). I actually placed units directly behind German units and destroyed most of them. This was the reason I tried playing as the Germans (to see where Russian reinforcements would arrive). Russian reinforcements came in at the North & East edges as per the briefing.
