OT My New Car

Well, it isn't exactly new, but it's pretty close to it. I bought a 2009 Kia Rio 4-door sedan from Enterprise Car Sales, and it cost $12,500, but it has only 19,700 miles on it. That means it still has 40,000 miles to go on the manufacturer's warranty. I had $5000 from my insurance settlement to put down on it, so my payments will be only $207/month for 5 years. The thing is, my credit isn't good, so my interest rate is 12.49%.
All things considered, I think I did pretty well on the deal.
I write about this as I had written about my terrible last week, and THIS week things are looking much better.
Here's the thing: my 2004 Cavalier LS had over 100,000 miles on it when it was wrecked, so I think it may end up being a good event in the long run. Yes, I have a car payment again, BUT it was bound to happen sooner or later anyway. Besides that, my daughter will be getting her learner's permit next year, and the Kia will be a good car for her to drive.
The BAD thing is that I'll have to postpone my retirement until it's paid off. Oh, well.

So am I, Titanwarrior. After last Friday's horrific storm, many people in the area are still without electricity. I didn't suffer any damage because of it, but it capped off a really crappy week. However, I'm an eternal optimist, and I believe that if you don't lose yourself in thinking, "oh woe is me", it will work out. Thankfully, my family is OK and we're not suffering.
Thanks for reading, guys, and I hope everything is OK with you. [:)]

That is an extremely corrupted deal Mr Erwin. Youre taking heavy artillery fire on that interest rate. Return the vehicle & follow this plan instead;

I am still so bewildered at that interest rate. Absolutely awful of them to charge you that, even though you say your credit is not good, that to me is a complete rip off? But do understand that in your case it was a must. I have never purchase a car on credit, always paid cash for it do acknowledged that not everyone is capable of that.

Come on, he's bought a car. Period. He does not need negative comments... diesel, interests...
Simply wish him luck, be prudent, safe drive etc etc [;)]

And why not? They last longer and you make your own fuel for much less than $3 per gallon. I used to sell cars and we would change deals with buyers who changed their minds even as much as two months later. Much of the time the deal was an upgrade or some were an even exchange. We kept most of our customers happy. (Some people will never be satisfied). [:D]

In that case I apologize for flying off the handle. I just feel bad for him having all these problems at once. I'll delete my post.

Korea makes great cars! They are catching up to the Japanese rapidly.
