Patch problems.
I reinstalled my copy recently after updating to Win 7. I had a ver 1.6 installer. It seemed to be working properly. I recently downloaded and installed the new patch and it failed to update the game sayiong I have to reinstall the game. I downloaded the patch again and installed it. I received the same message.

Can I just use this forum to post my 2 problems, please?

1st - have also that problem that I installed BA - runs fine -- asks for patch (also to be able to go online for play) -- after the patch it doesn't start anymore and tells me to reinstall. Did so - no success.

2nd - registered to the Slitherine forum to follow that thread there -- it is impossible for me to login there. I found somewhere on that site an email-address to contact if problems show up - seems not working either.

If you uninstall the game and then do a reinstall, does it work correctly?

When you run the patcher, is the folder it attempts to install the patch to the correct one?

Yes, I reinstalled the basic game and I can play it - offline.

Yes, it wants to install it there:
C:\Programme\Slitherine\Battle Academy

And BA starts from there:
C:\Programme\Slitherine\Battle Academy\BA.exe

OK - so try and install the patch again, but be watch where it attempts to place the patch files and ensure that it is the same folder as your install. We have seen a very rate bug happen where it places the files incorrectly, but this is usually only where people have moved the install folder around post install, which doesn't seem to be the case here.

Sorry, I was out of town.

Started patch - it wants to get installed in C:\Programme\Slitherine\Battle Academy -- so this would be correct too.

What can I check next please?

Please email support@slitherine.co.uk and ask for a new installer. Perhaps the older installer is doing something on your system that is messing things up.

Also, can you give details of the exact error message you are seeing when you attempt to run the game after the patch.

Situation: I have dropped my former PC and switched to an MAC running Windows using Parallels 7 with Windows XP running in the VM.
Battles runs fine, till I update

The latest (2.0.7) update is a full update (that is, includes all the files).

What expansions etc do you have installed? What version of the installer do you use to install the game initially?

And what exactly is the error message you are getting when you run the patch installer.
