Explain landing troops to me

Why sometimes ships land troops right away despite enemies and sometimes they just dance around the planet attacking enemies?
I know about fuel.
What else is there?
Ship size?
Type of defenses preventing them from landing?
Is there a way to force a ship to land troops despite everything?

Hello Kraze and welcome to the DW forums, I'll try to help.
It sounds like all that's needed is to put in the correct setting in your troop transports' (or
any other ship design that carries troops for you) design screen. At the top left of the ship
design screen under the ships picture you can set the 'Invade' setting. Put it at 'Invade Immediately'
and your ships should do everything in their power to ignore any defending ships and proceed to immediately drop their troops, then evade or engage the enemy. Try that! Hope that helps! [:)]
