COMBAT SCREEN - details

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

COMBAT SCREEN - details

Post by balto »

I think something is wrong with either the DETAILS screen or the COMBAT MODIFIERS.

I was looking to see how the various combat modifiers were working (Terrain, Staff, Attack Startup Penalty, Air Stacking, etc.., etc..).

I could not find the combat modifiers anywhere, so I went into the Details screen. The only indication of these modifiers appeared to be when you click on ORDERLY RETREAT TEST, there are two windows that appear -- ATTACK SCORE MODS and DEFENDER SCORE MODS. I tried dozens of attacks and I could NEVER get these MODS to populate. I also could not find ANY Combat Modifiers in any part of the DETAILS screen.

I therefore have three questions; (1) What are these ATTACK/DEFENDER SCORE MOD areas for? (2) How can we see the effect of the many combat modifiers that are used in battles? and (3) Is it possible none of the COMBAT modifiers are working?

Hi Balto,

An orderly retreat test actually doesnt use any modifiers. It just checks if the unit retreat or not as you can see when you click the 'unit orderly retreat test' inside the 'unit report' box.

To see mods being calculated. Click on an individual in the 'individual list' and then to the left of that click on an combat action in the 'individual reports'. For full info on the enemy you have to play with fog of war turned off.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Vic
