Do I need an update and what are the hazards

I just purchased OAW in July 2012 from Matrix. The help "about" states that my version is: 3,2,29,27 Large Map Version
1) Do I need an update?
2) Will an update make any of the scenarios that come with the package not function?
3) Will an update make current games not work right?
There is an extensive list of scenarios available with the Matrix package but more is always better. There is a list of community scenarios on Matrix with many updates etc., but not as extensive as I would have thought.
4) What is the best source for new scenarios?
I am just starting to get the hang of how to get the most out of a turn. I've got a lot of non electronic wargaming projects going but I still may be looking for an opponent soon.
