Ok I have been trying very hard to advance this game along,by creating new scenarios and art work, but my patience is quickly running out,due to the total lack of any interaction with MATRIX GAMES,I can't remember how long I have been on this forum, but I'm sure no one from Matrix has posted anything here ever during that time,I have a very serious question to ask and it is this, does this game have a future,is there anyone within MATRIX GAMES, who could at the very least improve this games AI please!

Typical no response from anyone from MATRIX GAMES,looks very much like we are going to have to try and fix this games AI ourselves.[:(]

I'm still very much into this game, but I share Kirk's frustration with the lack of response. See my response in the other thread:

It is taking up most of my time, but rest assured anyone who reads this, I will be back here to help Connfire, with the all new scenario he is creating in the background. To all who have purchased the game in the present Matrix sale, the forum may be quite but the game is superb if you like the dreadnought era enjoy.[:)]
Welcome all new players to the game, you might be interested to download my massive mod Pandoras Box scenario, it adds a whole batch of new stuff, that is not available in the basic game, plus don't worry about it mucking up anything in game its 100% compatible, and has been downloaded by over 170 people, without any problems, the download contains all my art work.

PANDORA'S BOX SCENARIO INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS.(CONNFIRE)
Go into your hard drive, and move the zip file you downloaded into the "Mods" file in War Plan Orange. Unzip it (if you already unzipped it somewhere else no big deal). Now, what you need to do is move the files you unzipped into other parts of WPO. Ignoring the ART file for now, move all the .dat and .txt files into SCEN file. These are all new files, so they'll go in easy.
The next step is the big ART file. Now, I've downloaded enough of Kirk's scenarios to trust that his artwork is superior to any pervious files I may have in the game. So I just let his files rewrite over the older files of the same name, and then I'm done. But I also recall how scary it was the first time, knowing that all my old stock WPO artwork was about to be replaced forever.
So what I did then, and you can do now if it makes you feel safer, is copy the old ART file before you move Kirk's over. Rename the file, and move it somewhere else on your computer. You now have an archived version of the stock WPO art, and you can go back to it if you ever wish to (which you probably won't, but at least you have the choice). Once that is done, do what I did above, move Kirk's files into your ART file, let them rewrite the old artwork, and you're done.
You can also view the artwork by double-clicking any .bmp files in the ART file, even before you install it. The new ships are in the subfolders AlliedShip_Back and JapShip_Back within the ART file. The new aircraft are in 4 .bmp files in the ART folder itself - Aptop, A_Planeside, Jptop, and J_Planeside.
Sample from Pandora's Box scenario, German Pre-Dreadnought Braunschweig class.

What did you think of the book? I see it's available for free at Google. Worth reading?

What did you think of the book? I see it's available for free at Google. Worth reading?
The book is a fictional account of the 1931 Japanese-American War and I don't want to give away too much of the story, but it is well written and mostly a believable scenario as to how a war could have started and how the action might have progressed. There is a huge amount of detail on the ships, the forces : naval, air and army formations of both sides and a complete complement of fictional officers who directed the war. It reads in all respects as a detailed history of the events and background of the 1931-33 Pacific war.
The book is billed as the story which predicted Pearl Harbor, but written in 1925 when naval aviation was in its infancy, it cannot predict such a possibility :
Nor were fears entertained for the safety of Hawaii, for it was unbelievable that Japan would send a military expedition across 3,400 miles of ocean to attack territory which served as the main Pacific base of the American fleet. Page 75.
Which accurately portrays the attitude right up until Dec. 7th., even though it was probably true in 1925.
The events of 1941 were well in advance of the capabilities of that earlier time, but there are, however, wide ranging operations including Hawaii and the West Coast, which were very far sighted for the time, again don't want to give too much away, but Hector Bywater was a very well informed correspondent, who covered the 1922 Washington Treaty negotiations and demonstrated a considerable knowledge of naval matters and wrote a very entertaining and informative book.
I enjoyed the book immensely and highly recommended for anyone interested in the period. [:)]

Looks like I'll have to read it. It's funny how vintage books predicting the future such as this (most notably 1984) now fall under the realm of "alternate history". It sound like you'd like one of Robert Conroy's latest books, 1920. Good summer read about a Germany which won WWI in 1915 invading the USA from Mexico. While most of the action takes place on land, there's a surprising amount of naval action too.

I noted these books in your earlier posts and found them on Amazon a few weeks ago, but I haven't hit the button on them yet.
I already have a book queue running, then there are the games. I usually catch up on the books when we are travelling, finished two last week while camping in Norfolk. Great Pacific War and the story of Wilfrid Freeman, RAF officer in charge of UK aircraft production before and during WW2, responsible for organising the marriage of the P51 and the Rolls Royce Merlin engine, just in time to enable escorted daylight missions over the Reich and destroying the Luftwaffe fighter arm.
Probably one of the most important Allied decisions of the war and an almost unknown character.
Hector Bywater certainly got me looking at WPO again. [:)]
