this is another really cool large scale pacific war game that i thought was really fun. covered entire United States from New York to Panama Canal to Eastern Russia and the whole of India. basically the entire world except for europe, africa and the middle east. Wish it had as much detail as Uncommon Valor but UV could take a lot from this game too. it had a lot to offer and really fun to play. anyone else who played this game agree?

Yep, I happen to have that version of the game. I find it limited in some aspects:
1) Ship task force is only limited to 8 ships
2) Air groups attack in groups of 15 only
3) ridiculous card game for resource allocation.
But it does have a relatively simple control interface than Pacific War.
Anyway, there is a new version PTO4 that just came out, unfortunately only the japanese version was released. Maybe released in Chinese or English in a few months hopefully.

these were definite drawbacks to the game.
another drawback about this game was the ai. But the vastness of it was very cool. Plus you had control of everything. Being able to attack the Panama Canal or New York or even the Soviet Union was a lot of fun. Unfortunately it was very basic and did not have as much detail as UV. Yes, Koei made a PTO III and PTO IV but unfortunately these did not come out in America. I would be curious to see how much they improved on the game.

one thing i really loved about this game was in the giant campaign the game started months before pearl harbor. i thought this was really cool as it gave you an oppurtunity to prepare your forces for your long turn plan. u didnt have to attack pearl if u didnt want to. this was one thing i disliked about pacific war is it started right at the bombing of pearl with really no options beforehand. this would be the number one thing i wish uv war in the pacific would take from this game.
