So, decided to start a new game and try to avoid the mistakes I've made so far, and keep things under control.

All started well, large galaxy, abundant colonies, 10x10...

And there's a homeworld of some aggressive insects RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO ME. The next star. Is this normal? Every other 4X game I have played has at least given the option not to have someone sitting on your back porch when you start the game...

Is it normal? Not really. Does it happen? Sure.

One option is to restart the game if you don't like your starting position.

I restarted, but was just wondering. I have seen a few posts about people starting multiple games and picking the best but I like the random approach.

In the new game, I have three high value marshy moons orbiting one gas giant. Just got to research that and I'm laughing!
