Is there not a smother way to upgrade a starport from i.e small -> medim other than "right click on starport". I mean this should be MUCH more userfriendly if you could do this thru F10 (Construction yards) or something. Am I missing something here? Plese enlighten me cause it´s a very tedious task to upgrade like 25 spaceports in this manner [&:]

You could upgrade the small starport design. But that way you would have to upgrade your starports all at once (maybe you only want to upgrade a few).

Ok thats´s one way to go i suppose. Problem is that "small starport design" isn´t small starport no more after that. If I colonize new planets well...

You could leave it to the AI? I had the same problem and thought Id try it, works well, does the same as I would (check planet 'pop etc) then changes the spaceports from small to medium to large as and when the planet 'pop reaches the right level, although I now do my own upgrades and designs the AI does a good job of retro-fitting them as well from what I remember.

I noticed the AI upgrading my space ports in the previous game, it surprised me a bit. I think I had suggest on bases and ships. But at least I found medium space ports in spots I was pretty sure I had never upgraded myself.

I find I lack some help in getting overview of space ports, but it hardly matters much. I would love a sortable list containing "colony name, system, space port size, population". It is easy to make sure that each system got a space port just by scrolling across the map. If there are multiple colonies, it is not so quick to make sure that all colonies got a space port. And also, I don't know a simple way to spot good colonies with a small space port.

The solution is probably to have enough automation that the AI upgrades them. But there are limits to how many large space ports are needed.
