Question on the Base menu

In this pic, to the right of "Supply" and "Fuel", there is a changeable option of Yes or No.

I don't recall ever seeing this before and the examples in the Manual do not show it.

Can someone explain to me what they are used for? If I make it say "Yes" for supplies and Fuel, what is the result??

Thanks for your help ahead of time.

If you put this on yes the base will stockpile and keep that stuff. Which means it wont flow to another base. Hope that helps :)

Be extremely careful in using the stockpiling option... For those no astute at the economic side - I see lots of economic problems which are caused by this on mainland japan. (if you are playing the red's)

Just BTW, it was added in a patch which is why they didn't put it in a manual.

stockpiles ON affects only the xfer of stuff to other bases - LCUs in nearby non-base hexes can still draw supply from a stockpilin' base. Damian is right to advise you to be careful! i use it sparingly, mostly at bases at the sharp end of the supply-chain - for example my sub/patrol-plane bases in north Oz, where i want to prevent accumulated supply & fuel from leaking away at the game-engine's whim. it's really possible to mung yourself up by stockpiling at the wrong place.
