I have been looking around but cant really find anything to answer my question.

Are there any mods about that add or change galaxy map layouts?

i like clusters but i also like huge maps yet i only get a handful of clusters when i want dozens. can anyone point me in the right direction? i gain the feeling that its a hard coded thing though.

Galaxy generation isn't exposed to modding at all.
The image for the backdrop can be changed and there is a few on these boards.
