No sound in game

I have sound during intro, and sound folder shows sound effects. I'm playing pre 3.4 update. Under sounds, during game screen, the sound options are greyed/whited out)- no sound effects/background music working, and I'm not sure what to do/if I can get sound(I'm playing the 'Classic OPAoW' version/folder. Any ideas ? Thanks.
