The new patch labelled 1.06 for Strategic War in Europe is available.

We have fixed couple of issues with Win8 crash among them.

2012-11-29 [v1.06]--Fixed
Fixed the bug causing the game to crash under Win 8
Fixed problems with reinforcing units under certain supply level
Fixed problem with bad reading of constant values

--Gameplay
Modified balance to favor USSR human player against German AI. Now human player should have possibility to win against German AI on normal level

This is a beta version of the patch, which means you have to unzip and start it manually, from the new exe, not from the start menu.

Others can download the patch via autoupdater

Can someone tell me what to do, or where to put the extracted files. I unzipped to the main SWIE directory and ran the exec but when I open the game it still says version 1.04

You can unzipp the files anywhere.
Then just copy/paste the whole content to the main game folder, you will see the structure.
You also have to launch the game from the new exe included to the zip

I installed this and got a CRC error.

(Doom, this may be because my copy was not slitherine or matrix registered).
Will this update be made available on your ftp site like previous patches?

It is already there.

Is this an official version or still beta ? I got v1.04 and the updater from the matrix launcher says that's have the most recent version.

Technically for Matrix customers this is a beta.
