Big Mo entrance. Unlike most of her class museums there was pretty good access to the ship.

The view you may have had from the deck of the West Virginia. The whole place seemed smaller to me then I thought it would.

Old Ford Island concrete airfield. It was explained to us the reason it was so large was a fear of Battleships shutting down the airfield.

Hickam field entrance - My friend from HS is a full bird stationed there. Had a great thanksgiving dinner in his house that dated back to before the attack.

Typical beach near the the rocky part of the island. This is a view of sandy beach from the blowhole. Any landing here would have been easily bottled up by the rocky terrain and mountains.

Bellows field beach near where the first Japanese prisoner of war was taken. I highly recommend if you are retired military or active duty checking this base out for vacation. The bungalows are right on the beach and run 95 bucks a night. They sleep 4.

Here is a view looking in the other direction. You can compare the mountains in the background to the famous picture of the midget sub sitting on the beach.

This mountain was full of pillboxes and concrete observation posts. This is looking towards Bellows field in the far distance.

Another view from the same mountain towards another potential landing beach in a valley near the Volcano. This area was well covered by observation posts and pillboxes.

Driving up to Kaneohe Bay Marine Base from the Honululu area. This is where we stayed the 3 weeks we were on the island. This is a good view of the old seaplane ramp and the bay. The hangers date back to the attack.
