I am running a Dell Latitude with Windows XP SP3 on it. I installed Commander the Great War and also the C++ and OpenAL programs included on the disk without any problems. The opening video played as well. But when I got to the screen to launch the actual game I got the following message when I clicked on "Play Commander The Great War": CTGW.EXE HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE. Here is my CTGW.LOG file:

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but got the same error. For what it is worth, I play Commander Europe at War and Commander Napoleon at War on this computer without any issues. Any advice on this error would be appreciated. Thanks.

Please be sure you first update your ATI drivers to the latest ones, we have seen this a couple of times before. Than re-install the game and let us know if this solved your problem.

I uninstalled the game, updated the ATI drivers, reinstalled the game and I got the exact same error. Then I tried installing the game on another Dell computer also running Windows XP SP3 and got the same error as well.

When you're updating your ATI drivers, are you using windows update or downloading from the manufacturers website? If windows, please could you try the manufacturers website and let us know if that works.

I am updating the drivers from the READ ME FIRST! section that you provided in this forum.

It seems you card only supports OGL v 1.3. Could you please attach glewinfo log?
