ALLCON,
I've just gotten this fine game and look forward to many hours of backing up my reading of real world military history with game time. I've been reading David Drake's Hammer's Slammers series of science fiction novels when it occurred to me that TOAW might also make a great platform for simulations in SF settings.
Does anyone here know if anyone else has already tried this?

Hey feld, nice game you got [:)]
There are some scenarios out of TOAW scope, like ancients, or even fantasy (in case you don't know:
Scenarios at Rugged Defense)
Sadly I don't know of anything sci fi for TOAW. There were some attempts, judging by a few old threads.
But I don't see any reason to at least not try.
In worst case scenario (ha!) you will learn a lot about TOAW, and futuristic tanks don't seem much of a stretch for the engine.

Rodia,
it's not that difficult; e.g. if you use a list for equipment with values from table-top or boardgames; you can adjust them nicely. Recommended are the alteration of the Flags though; unless you want have 'Nazis' on the moon with flying saucers. :)Btw, which program did you use for your bloody nice counters?

Thanks, Oberst.
I've used good old Paint Shop Pro 7.1, with some touches of Paint.exe and Gimp after Bob Cross tutorial on modifying counters.
The graphics are from a True Type Font Dingbat I found,
this one.
You're right, it's not really impossible hard, as long as you're adapting a boardgame and not a real war operation as you guys do.
So now you know, feld, we're waiting your scenario. [:D]
