Breakthrough to Mzensk still crashes with wagons

Moving a wagon onto the victory location when the location is occupied by a friendly unit seems likely to crash the game. It just happened on the first wagon I moved, and it has happened with the second wagon in the previous version.

Thanks for the report. Would you mind posting a save file if you have one? I spent a day working on this but was never able to reproduce the problem, and therefore I wonder if it is some combination of rule options or preferences that I didn't have set properly to cause the issue. Or e-mail to me at ericbabe@west-civ.com.

I just tried again from the attached savegame. It crashed on the second wagon even when the victory location was unoccupied.

This time I ran with 'classic ap' and the new maps (not mega size) but in the previous version I used 'persistent ap' and it happened there as well. Other than that I use chits, 'no bloom', anti aliasing at 4, and have the names of units on. I did switch between 3d units and chits this time, but I don't think I did that last time it crashed.

Btw, would it be possible to get an option for starting with the names of units active ?

Btw #2, I had a crash which seems realated to the maps. I first played once with the mega maps, then switched to the smaller size and tried to start a new scenario. The game crashed while loading the scenario. It worked fine after starting the game with the new settings.

i had this too not so much a crash, the map just didn't display. once i restarted the game it worked fine. I believe it says that some map switches might require restart to work, might be just wad? Only seems to happen when switching too and from the big map.

Thanks for the save file. I will try to reproduce the issue from this.

Do you mean an option for starting games with the names that are toggled on by pressing the 'n' key? I could perhaps have that state stored along with the other bits of preference data.

Switching between map styles between playing firefights might cause out-of-memory problems. We had an issue that was caused by a documented .NET garbage collection bug in which our very large chunks of memory aren't entirely deallocated, or aren't deallocated in a timely manner upon disposal. I spent a long time writing workarounds to this .NET bug (that's what all those giant map .BYT files are all about). So it's possible that some configuration changes involving the giant maps between firefights might cause out-of-memory errors.

Yes, I always have to turn the names on when I start a scenario so it would be nice if I could just select that in the options. Currently, it's not possible to show names during the initial placement fase either, which would be nice to have as well.
