How do I do the following:
A. Transfer CP's to another unit?
B. Can I make moves with one unit - but stop - still have CP's - go to another unit and then come back to this same unit?
C. Can a unit play defense - meaning other side moves but my unit automatically fires upon them?
I appreciate the help - thanks!

Once CAPs are given to a unit, you can't transfer them to another unit. You transfer CAPs from your pool to a unit by using the 'C' key or by pressing the "CAPs to APs" button at the left side of the screen.
You can make moves with a unit, stop, retain APs ("action points"), go to another unit, come back to that unit, and resume moving while using the "Persistent APs" rules. When using the "Classic APs" rules you cannot do this. CAPs ("Command Action Points") aren't pooled by units but rather the player has a single, global pool of CAPs, which he can use to transfer to the active unit's APs, or, when playing with the Classic rules, to take Command Actions.
After one player takes any single action, the other player has a chance to respond. So there is no automatic fire mode, but you'll always have an opportunity to decide to fire with a unit in response to an enemy action.
