I finally got my profile pic set up

How do I turn that into an avatar for my forum posts? I tried all two settings in My Profile:
Upload my Picture
Click to Choose Avatar

but neither seemed to work. This seems to be much harder than it needs to be. Even setting up the profile pic too awhile to do correctly.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Avatar pics limit is 145x145 750kb. Go to My Profile and scroll down to above Profile pic to Avatar. Click the upload from text and browse to your computer where you have the pic you want to use.

Edit I reread your post and see that you know where to go but this might help someone else. I would resize your profile pic and save it on your computer to upload.

I think what is confusing is that upload option is a radio button. The text is a link but is no different in color that regular text. I had no idea it was a link.



My image size wasn't a problem though.

On my screen the links are blue and the rest are black and when I hover over it, it underlines and turns black, but yes, the radio buttons don't help.

Yeah, I see the hover state. I don't think they turn blue until you've selected them at least once or it is subtle or it is my old eyes. Probably a combination[:)]

To dig up an old thread - I can't seem to get the forum to accept my custom avatar. It's 145x145 (on the dot) and only ~9Kilobytes in the .gif format.

It tells me the upload is successfully and then nothing else happens - The avatar doesn't appear afterwards.



And a personal rant - No PNG support? I love my smooth alpha channel blending.

Yup, happens to me too, stopped trying it looong time ago. [:(]

The size in pixels and size in bytes are completely different things. You can save at the smallest size setting which compresses the image more but does not reduce the size in pixels. It sounds like you need to change the actual pixel size of the image to be within the restrictions?
