HCE Crashes soon after start

Hi,

Hope someone can help. I have a fully updated version of HCE running on Windows Vista. I am able to use all editor functionality OK but when I try to play a game (bundled scenario or own creation) it crashes within 2 minutes of starting and simply closes HCE.

Any ideas?

Hi Mapnoon,

It might help if you can send me a log file (hc3@harpgamer.com), from the game directory, ge.log. I can't say we've seen instability like you are describing. Is there any possibility that your computer is overheating (i.e. fan on CPU or video card not rotating anymore)?

You say fully updated HCE, what game version, what specific scenario as an example? If you run the same scenario multiple times is it crashing at the same spot? If it is, send a saved game as well.

Tony

Thanks - will email file.

I am using version 2009.050

Computer is definitely not overheating and the crash seems to happen on all scenarios (I have now gone through as many as possible...!)

Got your file, indeed there isn't much to go on there. My apologies in advance that this probably won't be quick or easy. The log shows you aren't using any ExportDLLs so at least we don't have to disable any of those.

Please try the 2009.69 GE (Game Engine aka Winharp32.exe) from http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.ph ... ch_id=1423 Make a backup copy of your existing one if you want.

When you start the game, go into the original GIUK battleset, first scenario (listed as a tutorial). Please shoot me another e-mail with a screenshot of the error message and we'll keep working forward from there.

If you get bored, run the SysInfo utility and send me those results too http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.ph ... o-utility/
